Serena and Serena Williams won final Grand Slam while secretly pregnant at Australian Open are legends of the world of tennis with a combined net worth of almost $400 million £312m and multiple major titles to their name.
Serena Williams won final Grand Slam while secretly pregnant at Australian Openhas a solo net worth of $300m £234m and Venus is worth $95m £74m, according to Celebrity Net Worth. Both of the sisters have won Wimbledon multiple times in the past but are both absent from this year's tournament -with Serena retired and Venus opting out.
The pair began their tennis career at just 14 years old, with Venus in 1994 and Serena a year later in 1995, and were coached by their parents, Richard Williams and Oracene Price.
Venus has won seven Venus Williams delivers classy response after worst-ever US Open defeat singles titles, five at Wimbledon and two at the US Open, with Serena winning an eye-watering 23 Grand Slam singles titles in her illustrious career. Serena has won the Australian Open seven times, the French Open three times, the US Open six times and Wimbledon a whopping seven times.
As well as this, the pair have won 14 Grand Slam doubles titles which includes four Australian Open titles, two Roland Garros titles, six Wimbledon titles, and two US Open titles. The impressive part of this statistic is that they've never lost a final when playing together, boasting an incredible 14-0 record when playing doubles together in the final round.
Serena announced her retirement from the sport in 2022 but admitted at the time that she didn't like the word 'retirement' and instead dubbed her exit from tennis as a "transition".
Speaking to Vogue in 2022, Serena said: "I have never liked the word retirement. It doesn't feel like a modern word to me. I've been thinking of this as a transition, but I want to be sensitive about how I use that word, which means something very specific and important to a community of people.
"Maybe the best word to describe what I'm up to is evolution. I'm here to tell you that I'm evolving away from tennis, toward other things that are important to me."
This year, 42-year-old Serena teased a potential return to the court by posting a tweet on X that read: "I'm ready to hit some balls again." This post, one year on from the birth of her second daughter Adira, had sparked fans into a frenzy in May 2024 that one of the most talented players of the 21st century could be returning to the courts.
Venus, on the other hand, is still actively playing tennis with her last match ending in defeat to Nao Hibino at the BNP Paribas Open. Venus has been plagued with injuries over the last few years and has played sparingly into her 40s, but is still an active player in the tennis world.
Venus actually has Serena beat on Olympic medals, winning four gold and one silver to Serena's four gold medals. But the pair have consistently lined up against one another in the tennis world with Serena beating Venus four times in four consecutive major finals.
Serena has also opened up about the benefits of being in her sister Venus' "shadow", saying: "But if I hadn't been in Venus' shadow, I would never be who I am. When someone said I was just the little sister, that's when I got really fired up.
"I started playing tennis with the goal of winning the U.S. Open. I didn't think past that. And then I just kept winning."
Away from tennis, Serena is married to Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian and they have two daughters together -- Olympia and Adira.
The pair were both raised as Jehovah's Witnesses and both are minority owners of NFL team, the Miami Dolphins.
