In Breezy Point, council member Steve Jensen will seek reelection. He has served for two years after winning a special two-year election in 2022.
Bill Kennedy filed for mayor in Hackensack, and Michelle J. Iees-Lundgren will seek a council seat.
The filing period to seek election to area city, school board and township board seats opened Tuesday, July 30, and runs through 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13.

The filing fee is $2, paid to the city, township or school office clerks.
Area filings as of 4:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5, included:
- Pequot Lakes City Council: Tyler Gardner (incumbent mayor) filed for a third two-year term. Scott Pederson (incumbent) filed for a fourth four-year council term. Council member Laura Larson (appointed in February 2024) filed for a special two-year council term.
- Pine River City Council: Tamara Hansen (incumbent mayor) filed for reelection. Brent Norman (appointed in 2021) filed for a four-year council term.
- Breezy Point City Council: Angelica Zierden (incumbent mayor) and Todd Roggenkamp (former mayor) filed for mayor. Steve Jensen (incumbent) filed for a city council seat.
- Crosslake City Council: David Nevin (incumbent) filed for a fourth term as mayor.
- Nisswa City Council: John Ryan (incumbent) filed for a third term as mayor. Council member Bruce London (appointed in April 2024) filed for a four-year council term.
- Jenkins City Council: Andrew Rudlang (appointed mayor in July 2023) filed for mayor. Newcomer Victor Prociuk filed for a four-year council seat.
- Lake Shore City Council: Andy Stewart (appointed mayor in 2023) filed for mayor. Incumbent council members Henry Cote and Wayne D. Anderson filed for reelection.
- Emily City Council: Tracy Jones (incumbent) filed for mayor. Council member Bryce L. Butcher (appointed in May 2023), Gerhart "Gary" Hanson (incumbent) and Daniel Brennan each filed for a four-year council term.
- Hackensack City Council: Bill Kennedy filed for mayor. Michelle J. Iees-Lundgren filed for a council seat.
- East Gull Lake City Council: Noelle Wallace filed for a four-year city council seat.
